Man, you guys are not gonna believe this. Warner Bros. just shut down Monolith Productions. Monolith! You know, the guys who gave us Shadow of Mordor and that insane Nemesis system? Yeah, those guys. I saw this news, and I just had to rant. It’s like, here we go again with the corporate BS.
Monolith Productions Shutdown: Monolith’s Rise and Fall – A Damn Shame

Remember Shadow of Mordor? That game was a freakin’ masterpiece. That Nemesis system? Still blows my mind. But then they messed up with Shadow of War, pushing all that microtransaction crap. And after that, they just couldn’t catch a break. They wanted to make something new, use that Nemesis magic, but Warner Bros. forced them to work on existing IPs. Wonder Woman, Game of Thrones… you know the drill. And look where it got them. A cancelled Wonder Woman game and a shutdown. It’s just a damn shame.
Wonder Woman’s Seven-Year Struggle – What a Mess

Seven years, guys. Seven years they worked on that Wonder Woman game. Seven! And they still couldn’t get it right. They tried to turn the Nemesis system into a ‘friendship system’ or whatever, but it just didn’t work. Reboots, directors changing, it was a mess. And Warner Bros. kept saying it wasn’t live-service, but they were clearly pushing multiplayer and microtransactions. No wonder it got canned. They blew over $100 million on that thing. What a waste.
Monolith Productions Shutdown: The Nemesis System – Gone Forever?

The worst part? The Nemesis system. That thing’s patented until 2036. So now Warner Bros. owns it, and they’re probably gonna let it rot. You know they’re not gonna use it for anything new. They’ll just keep pumping out Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat sequels. It’s always the same with these big companies. They don’t care about innovation, just about making a quick buck. I feel like they are killing off the very studios that made those IPs great.
Conclusion: Another Studio Bites the Dust – Wake Up, Warner Bros.!

This whole Monolith shutdown is a freakin’ wake-up call. It shows how these big companies just don’t care about the people who make the games. They only care about the money. They’d rather milk old IPs than let studios create something new. It’s just sad. And the Nemesis system? That thing deserved better. I just hope someone, somewhere, is learning from this. We need to support the studios that are trying to do something different. And Warner Bros., you need to get your act together.
