Lies of P: How My Second Playthrough Changed Everything

When Lies of P first launched, I didn’t own the game—I played it through Game Pass, purely because the gameplay, graphics, and art style had me hooked. At the time, I had never touched a Souls-like, but something about this one made me want to dive in.
I finished my first playthrough using the Spectre for a few bosses, and let me tell you—I loved every second of it. My excitement was visible on my YouTube streams, and I couldn’t stop talking about how much fun I had.
The Urge to Play Again

After that, I explored other smaller Souls-like titles, enjoying the challenge and the feeling these games give. But then, something hit me—I had an insane urge to jump back into Lies of P. This time, I bought the game on Steam and started fresh.
I was way better than before. I knew the combat, the enemies, the bosses. This time, I made a promise to myself: no Spectre. But… that didn’t last long.
First Impressions (Again)

Booting up the game, I was instantly reminded why I loved it. The graphics? Still beautiful. The optimization? Flawless. It ran smoothly, even on my old GPU from my first playthrough. Not a single frame drop—it was just as polished as I remembered.
This time, I explored more, uncovering hidden interactions and secrets I missed before. Every level felt fresh, even though I had already been through them once.
Boss Battles—A Different Experience

Bosses were way easier this time. Most went down in 1-2 tries, and even the worst ones took 3-4 attempts. But those two-phase bosses? They still wrecked me. I kept dying in their second phase, and after ten failed attempts, I broke my promise—Spectre time. And honestly? It reignited the fun for me.
When I reached the final boss, I wasn’t struggling like before. I was parrying like a madman, feeling more powerful because I had explored more and built confidence in every encounter.
The All Lies Playthrough

This time, I went for a purely ALL LIES playthrough to get the secret weapon (the staff)—and I got it, along with tons of music CDs. Before the DLC drops, I’ll definitely play the ALL TRUTH side to see how different the experience feels. And of course, I’m excited to dive into New Game Plus.
Would I Recommend Lies of P in 2025?
Hell yeah! This game is still an incredible experience, and I’d say any gamer—even those who’ve never played a Souls-like—should give it a shot.

My second playthrough of Lies of P was a completely different experience from my first. I was stronger, more confident, and more willing to explore. While I tried to avoid using the Spectre, I eventually gave in—but that only made the game more fun. With the DLC coming soon, I’m excited to see how the ALL TRUTH path plays out and jump into New Game Plus.
