Game of Thrones Kingsroad Demo: Download Now, Review Coming Soon

So, I launched YouTube this morning and saw Game of Thrones: Kingsroad has a free demo out on Steam. It’s a limited-time thing, running until March 3rd. Figured I’d check it out and share the details.

It’s an action-adventure RPG aiming to bring Westeros to life. They are talking about a massive open world, epic battles, and the usual Game of Thrones political drama. They are promising detailed environments and a large-scale experience, which, to be honest, I’m curious to see how it translates, especially considering the mobile version.

Exploring Westeros – A First Glance

They are showcasing familiar locations, from King’s Landing to Castle Black. Vivid landscapes, cities, towns, and wilderness areas are what they’re aiming for. It’s a classic Game of Thrones setup. I’ve downloaded the demo, and I’ll be taking a closer look at the visuals soon.

Your Story in Westeros – A Premise

You play an illegitimate kid from House Tyre in the North. Brothers are dead, winter’s coming, and you’re tasked with restoring your house. Political intrigue and White Walkers? Sounds like the usual GOT fare. I’m interested to see how they handle the storytelling.

Combat – A First Impression

They are promising fast-paced ARPG combat, with dodging, parrying, and sword fights. It’s supposed to be skill-based, not just button mashing. I’ll be testing out the combat mechanics in the demo.

Classes and Co-op – Features Overview

You can choose between Knight, Sellsword, and Assassin classes, each with different playstyles. They are also including co-op, where you team up to fight mythical creatures. Sounds like a standard feature set for this kind of game.

Demo Details and Release – The Facts

The free demo is available until March 3rd. The full game is set to release in Q2 2025. I’ve downloaded the demo, and I’ll be sharing my thoughts after I’ve had a chance to play it.

I’m keeping an open mind about this one. I’ll be sharing a review soon, once I’ve had some time with the demo.
