Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Reviews Are Out—And People Love It!

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is set to release on April 24, 2025, and as of today (April 23), the reviews are in—and they’re glowing! Critics are raving about everything: the visuals, the story, the music, the gameplay, and the overall concept. It’s clear that this game has struck a chord with players and reviewers alike.

This masterpiece comes from Sandfall Interactive, and here’s the kicker—it’s their first game. Can you believe it? The effort and passion they’ve poured into this project are nothing short of incredible. The voice acting has also been widely praised, thanks to the involvement of top-tier talent.
My First Impressions

When I first saw the trailers for Clair Obscur, I was hooked within minutes. The visuals, the atmosphere—it all looked amazing. But then I found out it was a turn-based action game, and I’ll admit, that hit me like a bullet. I’ve never been a fan of turn-based games; they tend to break the momentum for me. But oh boy, what they’ve done here is mind-blowing.

Yes, it’s turn-based at its core, but they’ve added parrying, dodging, and even shooting mechanics. It’s a fresh take on the genre, and reviewers are loving it. The combat feels dynamic and engaging, which is a rare feat for turn-based games.
A Massive Adventure

The game offers 65-70 hours of content, which is insanely impressive for a debut title. And it’s not just filler content either. From what I’ve heard, just when you think you’ve seen it all, the game throws something completely new at you, adding another 10-20 hours of gameplay. That’s the kind of depth and creativity that keeps players hooked.
A Sweet Deal
Right now, Clair Obscur is on a 10% sale until May 1, which is a great incentive for anyone on the fence. Personally, I’m adding it to my wishlist and saving up for it. I can already see myself diving into this game in the future.

What’s Next?
While I wait to get my hands on Clair Obscur, I’m currently playing The Last of Us Part 2, and I’ll be sharing my thoughts on that soon. In the meantime, check out my previous post: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Was Revealed Yesterday—And You Can Play It Now!.
